ABOUT

Having taught for many years in the United Kingdom and Spain, both in state run schools and private institutions, Aidan Kirkpatrick has accumulated a wealth of experience educating children (from 11 years old) and adults in a range of subjects and qualifications that he enjoys and is passionate about.

We provide quality British tutoring to all students!

TUTORING SERVICES

Maths is typically the most in-demand subject that we tutor in, across all levels, but we have many strings to our bow including (but not limited to) ICT, Computer Science, Business Studies, Science and Geography!

Key Stage 3

Key Stage 3 (KS3) includes Years 7, 8 and 9 in the British system.  Students will typically be aged between 11 to 14 years old.  End of Key Stage exams (Checkpoint Exams) that are externally marked, can be taken at the end of Year 9.  Some schools start their Key Stage 4 program in year 9.

iGCSE

Key Stage 4 (KS4) culminates in the infamous iGCSE exams and includes years 10 and 11 in the British system.  Students will typically be between the ages of 14 to 16 years old.

AS and A Level

Key Stage 5 (KS5) are the AS and A Level years in the British system, which are numbered 12 and 13 respectively.  Students are, however, free to take AS and/or A Level exams in either year.  These two years are also referred to as “Sixth Form”.  Students will typically be aged between 16 to 18 years old.

International Baccalaureate (IB)

Although the IBO offer 4 programs, we focus on two of them; the Middle Years Program, and the Diploma Program.  The former is for students aged 11 to 16 and the latter for students aged 16 to 19.  This award is tailored to students who have excellent breadth and depth of knowledge – students who flourish physically, intellectually, emotionally and ethically.

SAT

The SAT is the most popular of two available standardised college admissions tests in the United States of America. The test is designed to show schools how prepared you are for college by measuring key skills like reading comprehension, computational ability, and clarity of expression. Because so many students take the test, it also provides schools with data about how you compare to your peers nationwide. You will need to take the SAT (or ACT) if you are an American student looking to apply to schools in the UK or Canada or an international student hoping to attend college in the USA.

Professional Qualifications

These days learning is a life long process. Sometimes it has been a while since your last formal exam, sometimes a qualification requires prior knowledge that you haven’t used in the real world due to the specifics of your role.  Either way we can help remind you of the most effective study skills and strategies and, if necessary, remind you of the knowledge you haven’t used since school!
