Aidan has not always been a teacher. He graduated from university (in Bristol) with an honours degree in Mechanical Engineering and shortly afterwards moved to London to make his fortune (!) as a computer programmer, working in some of the largest investment banks and petrochemical companies in Canary Wharf and later running his own IT Consultancy company.
He honed his skills and obtained Microsoft Certification status whilst in the retail and media industry sectors and became a Microsoft and Google partner whilst consulting. Subsequently a chance opportunity working in a sixth form college changed his outlook entirely and he became a teacher.
Aidan is a fully UK qualified secondary school teacher and post compulsory education lecturer specialising in Maths, Business and ICT. He has worked in the education industry for over 10 years, both at home and abroad. During this time he has completed two PGCEs, one focusing on adult learners and the other on child learners.
Whilst teaching at secondary schools, he was able to not only deliver Maths, ICT and Computer Science at KS3, 4 and 5, but also to deliver English, Science, Enterprise, Business Studies and PSHE.
In addition, he was awarded a paid teaching and learning responsibility (TLR) to train his colleagues how to better use IT in and out of the classroom in order to improve teaching and learning.
Having been lucky enough to live abroad whilst growing up, Aidan is very excited to now be able to offer this opportunity to his two boys here in Mallorca and prepare them to be the next generation of truly global citizens.
